Ky Beaux is a multidisciplinary fine artist whose work bridges painting, sculpture, and immersive technology to tell powerful stories rooted in Southern Black life, resilience, and imagination. Drawing deeply from Creole heritage and hip-hop culture, Beaux creates vibrant, layered compositions that explore themes of memory, spirituality, migration, and survival.
Based between New York City and Louisiana, Beaux’s practice incorporates traditional materials like acrylic, gold leaf, and charcoal with contemporary tools such as augmented reality, 3D modeling, and sound design. His work often takes the form of “visual mixtapes”—immersive installations and mixed-media series that blend fine art with poetry, music, and movement.
Beaux holds a B.A. in Visual Arts with a minor in Music Business from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and a Master’s in Art & Technology from the University of Oklahoma. His formal training is matched by an instinctive visual rhythm drawn from the Black South. Influences range from Jean-Michel Basquiat and Romare Bearden to Lil Wayne and OutKast.
His work has been exhibited at institutions such as the Alexandria Museum of Art, Stella Jones Gallery, and the National Hip-Hop Museum x Art Basel, and featured in collaborations with brands including Champion and Complexcon. He is the founder of Gumbeaux Studios
